We traveled to Oroville, CA for one of our away games this week. I won’t miss these long football days when they are gone, but I am enjoying them while we are in the midst of them.

My sweet nephew spent the night the night before the game, and the kids slept in sleeping bags in a fort in the playroom. It was precious. They had minion cupcakes and watched the minions movie

We got the car loaded up and dropped Tanner off at home before the hour long drive. Everyone was in good spirits, and Domi had fun playing. Pieces fell into place, with plenty of room to put up our shade canopy, and lay out our blanket to sit on and enjoy the games.

And he learned quickly how to climb stairs by himself.

It was shaping up to be a great day, but it got pretty warm, even sitting in the shade. Stephen was working on the field when Kyle started having an allergic reaction to the artificial turf. It turns out that there is latex in the infill (the layer under the plastic “grass” blades), and poor Kyle wound up in a lot of itchy pain from it.

Now that we know what it is, we can prevent it in the future. But boy, was that a lesson I didn’t want to learn 😦 poor guy.
